Introduction

Center for Environmental Studies

The Center for Environmental Studies (CES) was established in August 1989.  The Center’s goal is to be a key player in improving the quality of environment and life by integrating the existing research power and resources within National Central University. The research topics of the CES are relevant to issues of global change, environmental and sustainable development, and advanced technologies for environmental monitoring. A group of experts is invited to form the advisory committee to guide the research directions of the Center.  The Center Director and the four group leaders are faculty members from various departments in National Central University.  The members of CES include five full-time research fellows, three postdoctoral researchers,  two technical staff,  and more than 20 research assistants.
